Choosing a bed

Every bed here comes in five sizes - a 3ft single, a 4ft small double, a 4ft 6in double, a 5ft king and a 6ft super king - and each one can be bought as the frame on its own, or as a bed set with a mattress. If you already have a mattress you are happy with, the frame is all you need; measure it first, because UK mattress sizes are fixed and the frame is made to fit one exactly.

A bed set comes with our Standard mattress, an 8-9 inch hybrid spring mattress with a layer of foam, and the product page lets you upgrade it to memory foam, orthopaedic or pocket sprung for a little more. The mattresses can also be bought on their own, in every size.

Storage is the other decision. Drawers slide out from the base; a gas lift raises the whole base on struts so the space underneath is one big compartment; an ottoman box is an upholstered storage box at the foot of the bed. A solid base can replace the slats. Each is priced on the page, and they can be combined. The frames are made to order, in the colour photographed or in any colour of chenille, plush velvet or crushed velvet from the fabric library.

Delivery is free to most of the UK, and you pay in cash or by bank transfer when it arrives rather than upfront. Most of the UK gets delivery in 2–4 days, and Devon, Cornwall, the Aberdeen area and the north of Scotland in 5–7 days. We deliver Tuesday to Sunday, not on Mondays.
